Wayne Schaffer | Lead Pastor
As Lead Pastor, Wayne is an effective communicator of God’s Word, known for his practical and dynamic teaching style which helps people apply the timeless truths of Scripture to their everyday lives. He also serves as Presbyter for the South Central West Section of the Penn/Del District A/G.
Pastor Wayne grew up in a pastors home and received the call to pastoral ministry at the age of 16. He has served in full time ministry since receiving his credentials with the Assemblies of God in 1991. Pastor Wayne served as associate and lead pastor of several different churches before coming to New Life in 2008.
He and his wife, Suzanne, have been married since 1992. They are the proud parents of two adult children, Michael (Victoria) and Carly Wilson (Derrick), and grandparent to their two grandsons.
Pastor Wayne enjoys traveling on missions trips, trying new restaurants and finishing his day with a bowl of Suzanne’s homemade ice cream.
Micah Marshall | Youth Pastor
Micah is the Executive Director and founder of Refuge Youth Network. He is married to Bethany Marshall who is a Family Life Pastor at another local church. Micah grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from Zion Bible College in Haverhill, Massachusetts with a degree in Biblical Studies. He was hired in March 2011 as the youth pastor at New Life Worship Center, where Refuge Youth Network was birthed. He is the current youth pastor for four churches in the area: New Life Worship Center, Trans4mation Church, Community Worship Center in Tyrone and Journey Church in Hollidaysburg Micah enjoys spending time with his wife Bethany and their dog, Timber.
Jacob Fitzmaurice | Worship Pastor
Pastor Jacob started serving at New Life in 2021 as our Worship Pastor. His primary responsibility is to lead our multigenerational congregation in musical worship. Jacob is passionate about growing leaders on our worship related teams, seeing hearts, minds, and souls renewed by Christian worship, and greatly values the study of scripture.
Jacob is also a recent graduate of Messiah University with a B.A. in Music & Worship, is the Creative Arts Director of Refuge Youth Network, and is a local musical artist.
Tom Lundgren | Senior Administrative Assistant
Tom is the senior administrative assistant at New Life. He graduated from the State University of New York, Fredonia campus, with Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics. He retired from Stroehmann/Bimbo Bakeries after working in management for over 40 years.
Tom is responsible for the finances, administration, and financial reporting for the church. He loves the opportunity to serve the Lord and be a mentor in other men’s lives. He enjoys playing golf with his buddies in the summer as well as carpentry and cooking.
Tom served his country in the Army National Guard from 1965 – 1971.
Tom and his wife, Tammy, met in church and been married since 1997. Their three children and three grandchildren have been a constant source of joy in their lives. For Tom, the love of the Lord, his own family, and his New Life church family is his daily inspiration.
Chalmers Port | Ministry Assistant
Chalmers is the Director of Digital Media at Refuge Youth Network and the Director of its Bellwood Campus. He grew up in Huntingdon and graduated from Messiah College in May ‘19 with a degree in Digital Media and a minor in Congregational Ministry. Chalmers loves playing games of all kinds, disc golfing, and spending time with friends and family.
